If you’ve ever been to a coral show, you’ve likely run into Frost Corals, who frequents nearly every trade show on the circuit. This week, he got in some truly special Heliofungia, the quality of which is rarely seen.
First, we have his “purple monster” helio, featuring dark purple tentacles with bright yellow tips and a striking fluorescent yellow oral disk. When I first saw this piece, I immediately thought, “This is a rasta torch in plate form.”
The second piece he fittingly calls the “golden sun.” This specimen is a mess of bright yellow streaks and an oral disk contrasted against almost black tentacles. I have seen quite a few Heliofungia with yellow streaks, but what makes this one extremely unique is the presence of green mixed in at the base of the tentacles.
If you want to snag these pieces, they are only available in person at shows. Frost’s next stop is Skelly Fest this Saturday in Miami.
