Young Cat with an Old Soul Grows Slower Than Others, They Realize She’s a ‘Forever Kitten’

A young cat with an old soul grew slower than others. They realized she was a “forever kitten.”

Munchkin aka SukiTheOddCatSanctuary

A tiny kitten named Munchkin arrived at the Odd Cat Sanctuary from a local animal shelter, hoping for a better life.

Found alone outside and starved of love, Munchkin craved comfort and company. At five weeks old, she was exceptionally small, with shorter legs in proportion to her compact build.

“We quickly realized she was different when all the other kittens started growing, and she stayed the same size,” the Odd Cat Sanctuary shared with Love Meow.

“She was so sweet and snuggly when she arrived. The tiniest kitty with the shortest legs and a mackerel tabby coat.”

Munchkin was immediately friendly with volunteers and sought affection from them. Curious about her new surroundings, she explored every corner, her paws tip-tapping softly while her tail stood proudly upright.

“We knew she was going to be all right the second we met her. She’s an old soul, and we could instantly see how special she was.”

Though barely one pound, she let nothing slow her down when playing with other kittens. She held her own, running and tussling as if she were twice her size.

“She was born with a condition that makes her stay small forever. We refer to it as ‘forever kitten.'”

With a comfy foster home, Munchkin blossomed into a playful and loving kitty. Whenever the sunbeams streamed into the room, she was always there, basking in their warmth.

Munchkin grew fond of lap time and insisted on lying on her human after a vigorous play session. She followed her carer around the house, ensuring she would never be alone again.

While other kittens were big enough to start searching for their forever homes, Munchkin had to wait an extra month before she was ready for adoption.

It took her longer to reach the two-pound mark, but Munchkin wasn’t concerned and continued living each day to the fullest. She enjoyed lounging near her people on a desk or a cat tree, always ready to offer a cuddle.

Knowing how much she adored company, the rescue hoped to find her a home with friendly feline or canine companions. When a former adopter contacted them about Munchkin, they knew it was a match made in heaven.

The family opened their home and hearts to the sweet kitten they fell in love with.

Renamed Suki, she quickly settled in and befriended the house panther, Darla (an Odd Cat alumnus), and three cat-adoring dogs. Before long, Suki was zooming around with her new siblings like she owned the place.

She trails behind the canine crew, acting as if she were part dog. Together, they beg for treats and create all sorts of antics.

She has learned to jump on the kitchen counter with the encouragement of her best friend, Darla, and demands attention like the princess of her castle.

“She is living the best life with her dog and kitty siblings. Still tiny to this day, she’s playful, sweet, and an old soul.”
